Job Summary

Truck Driver is responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using trucks. He is also responsible for regular inspection of the truck and getting the repairs and maintenance done.

Driving

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centres
• Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
• Dumping materials into machine hoppers

Maintenance

• Inspect for mechanical or electrical faults and report to supervisor regularly
• Determine if any parts are malfunctioning and request for maintenance support
